Mauri Bernstein has spent most of her life performing all over stage and screen as an actor. Specializing in comedy, she has played almost every flavor of neurotic human. She has created variations of the role of "nerd girl" numerous times for various television programs, from Doogie Howser M.D.to HBO's Sessions. She has trained at Circle in the Square, New York University, The Acting Studio in New York, Sam Christensen Studio, and the Creative Actor’s Workshop with Scott-Arthur Allen where she eventually taught and coached. Mauri also performed for eleven years as a regular improviser at ComedySportz Los Angeles and wrote and performed sketch comedy for Wasteland Comedy Company and the Search Party.

Being a proficient physical performer and influenced by her life as an actor, Mauri specializes in character-driven puppetry. She is skilled in most types of puppet performance including hand and rod, body puppets, marionettes, animatronics, and adapted bunraku. She has had the pleasure of performing several iconic characters including the McDonald's Grimace, the Budweiser Frogs, and Salem the cat on Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
